AFL Media’s Cal Twomey is reporting that Giants midfielder Jacob Hopper is a good chance of getting to the Cats this trade period.

Hopper, 25, is out of contract at the end of the 2023 season so the Cats would need to put forward a suitable trade.

“I think Hopper is a good chance to be right in the mix for the Cats,” Twomey said on SEN Breakfast.

“We reported about a month ago their interest in him as a pre agent.

“They’d have to trade for him obviously. He’s still got a year to go on his contract with the Giants.”

SEN’s Sam Edmund also reported on the weekend that the Cats “have expressed a real interest” in Hopper who has emerged as their “number one target.”

Hopper has missed most of 2022 through injury.
