THREE local players, Jemma Amoore, Millie Cracknell and Milly Sharp, have been re-signed by the Ballarat Miners for the next NBL1 South season.

Women’s head coach Kennedy Kereama said it was exciting to have the three players re-sign.

“I am absolutely thrilled to secure three exceptional young talents in Jemma, Millie and Milly, to our team for the 2024 season,” he said.

“These remarkable players have not only showcased their immense dedication and skill but have also progressed through the esteemed local and state pathways in Ballarat.”

Kereama said he is looking forward to seeing the young women continue to develop.

Amoore has already signed with Sacramento State starting mid next year and said she is looking forward to working under coach Kereama.

“I’m looking forward to playing for the Miners again this coming season and can’t wait to get started with the rest of the team, especially under such an experienced coach in Kennedy, who I’m confident will bring out the best in us to ensure that we have a successful season,” she said.

It will be Cracknell’s sixth season, and she said she is excited to continue her journey.

“I’m super keen for next season and a fresh start with a high-level coach in Kennedy, who will no doubt give our team a great advantage over the rest of the competition,” she said.

“I am also excited with Milly and Jemma signing on as this provides a great foundation of locals along with a strong calibre of girls to come.”

Sharp is also looking forward to the year ahead and beginning to work with her teammates.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to again play with the Ballarat Miners in season 2024 and am eager to get stuck into pre-season with the team,” she said.

The Miners NBL1 South season starts Wednesday 3 April with a home game against Bendigo.
