Midlands sneak into Monday finals mix

THE final round of the Ballarat District Bowls Division Monday Pennant has been completed and it’s onto finals.

PREMIERS

With their win over Avenue, Midlands replaced Central Wendouree for fourth place as City Oval proved too strong for Central. There were some surprising wins, Creswick defeated top team Buninyong by 18 shots, Clunes proved too strong for second placed BMS and Daylesford scored a win over Sebastopol.  The final four is Buninyong, BMS City Oval and Midlands.

DIVISION 1

Mount Xavier defeated third team Beaufort, other winners were Avenue over Sebastopol, Victoria downed Buninyong, City Oval were all rinks up over Smeaton and Webbcona defeated Central Wendouree. The final four positions are, Victoria, Webbcona, Beaufort and Smeaton.

DIVISION 2

Daylesford drew with Central Wendouree, Smeaton had a one-shot win over BMS, Learmonth got the job done over Invermay, Sebastopol won against City Oval and Linton defeated Midlands. Final four is Linton, Smeaton, Learmonth and Central Wendouree.

DIVISION 3

Winners the final round were Creswick, Victoria, Learmonth, Smeaton and Webbcona. The top four finished up as Webbcona on top followed by Creswick, Central Wendouree and Victoria.

DIVISION 4

Ballarat North were clearly the best team in this division with 45-point lead over second placed Bungaree. Beaufort ended in third spot with Creswick in fourth. Round winners were Beaufort over Midlands, Ballarat North defeated Daylesford, Bungaree were too good for Buninyong 2, Creswick were victorious over Clunes, Victoria defeated Buninyong 1 and Linton were too strong for Central Wendouree.
