Mirabella shines again at Charlie Braszell Handicap

TWENTY-two riders contested the 2019 edition of Eureka Cycling Club’s Charlie Braszell Handicap, which was raced in cool and sunny conditions on Sunday.

Jakkii Dawson was the sole limit rider and she held the field off for 45kms. Her effort was acknowledged by receiving the Most Aggressive Rider award.

Second scratch proved the dominant group on the day with all five members reaching the bottom of the final climb in the race lead. Tony Mirabella had the extra burst near the top of the hill to become the first rider to win the race on two occasions.

The Braszell family kindly donated trophies and prize money. Geoff and Neil Braszell were on hand to present the prizes for the race staged in honour of their father.
