BALLARAT Miners has announced the signing of NBL experienced guard Lachlan Dent for the 2026 NBL1 season.
Dent, who spent four seasons with Illawarra Hawks between 2019-20 and 2022-23, joins the Miners fresh from a short-term injury replacement stint with rival NBL club Sydney Kings that further strengthened his exposure to elite competition and high-performance standards.
The dynamic 26-year-old boasts international experience in Europe with PS Karlsruhe Lions in Germany’s ProA league.
In 2023, he produced one of the Lions’ standout individual performances, scoring 42 points and knocking down 10 three-pointers in a single game, underlining his scoring ability and confidence from long range.
New to the NBL1 South, Dent impressed last season in the NBL1 North with the Brisbane Capitals, where he averaged 18.6 points, 5.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game.
He will join the Miners in time for their season opener against Bendigo Braves tomorrow night, Saturday 28 March, at Selkirk Stadium.
This year’s roster includes Dent, fellow guards Bol Bak, Brooklyn Bruton and Jaden Campbell, centre Yak Nyuon and forwards Ethan Fiegert, Riley Nicolson and Lucas Byrne.
