TREAT your mum or special mother figure this Mother’s Day with racing at the Ballarat Turf Club.

The Mother’s Day Races will feature a two-course lunch, a glass of bubbly and a relaxed atmosphere in the countryside.

“We’ve centred the theme around a Mother’s Day luncheon for people to spoil their mum or stepmother or grandmother or a mother figure,” said Leigh Brady, BTC business development manager. “We’ve got the luncheon happening which is a two-course meal and we’ve got a more fancy menu than our normal one.”

Kids meals with an activity bag are also available along with giveaways and door prizes.

Mr Brady said the event is a great way to spend quality time on Mother’s Day.

“The majority of the people who come to the races always have a fun day and you get to get dressed up with your mum and people that you love,” he said. “It’s another way to celebrate rather than your typical breakfast or dinner out.”

My Brady encouraged the community to support the country racing industry.

“There’s a lot of females which are in the racing industry now whether it be jockeys, stall hands or trainers,” he said.

“Coming to race days like this supports the local community.”

The Mother’s Day races are on Sunday 12 May. Tickets can be purchased on the Country Racing Victoria website.
