Rain dampens Monday pennant

With rain affecting some areas more than others several games were abandoned and teams shared the points in the Ballarat District Bowls Division Monday Pennant.

 

PREMIER

CENTRAL Wendouree and Daylesford was abandoned with teams scoring eight points each, as was City Oval and Creswick. Ladder leaders Buninyong played Midlands at Midlands and won overall, the home side took two of the three rinks but with Keith Chapman’s 33-shot winning effort sealed the deal for the visitors. Avenue defeated Clunes by 10 and BMS were winners over Sebastopol by three shots. The top four are BMS, Buninyong, City Oval and Central Wendouree.

 

DIVISION 1

Two games were abandoned.  Beaufort at home defeated City Oval by 32 points. Mount Xavier were victors over Central Wendouree by 41 shots winning all rinks. Sebastopol went down to Victoria. Top four has Victoria leading followed by Webbcona, Smeaton and City Oval.

 

DIVISION 2

Central Wendouree and City Oval was abandoned, Linton defeated Daylesford, BMS beat Sebastopol, Invermay had a six-shot win over Midlands and Learmonth took all rinks up against Smeaton. Top four on the ladder is Smeaton, Central Wendouree, Learmonth and Linton. Only 12 points separate first and fourth spot.

 

DIVISION 3

Two games shared equal points due to rain, Ballarat and Webbcona and Mt.Xavier and Central Wendouree. Creswick won comfortably over City Oval with all rinks up, Victoria won against Smeaton, Sebastopol went down to Learmonth.  Ladder leader is Webbcona followed by Creswick, Central Wendouree and Victoria.

 

DIVISION 4

Two games more games abandoned, Central Wendouree, Victoria, Buninyong 2 and Buninyong 1 shared points. Other winners were Ballarat North six shots up over Creswick, Beaufort comfortable winners over Bungaree, Daylesford defeated Clunes, and Midlands went down to Linton.  Ballarat North are on top, 54 points ahead of Bungaree, followed by Creswick and Clunes.
