East Point v Sebastopol – Qualifying Final

ALL eyes are on Eastern Oval this weekend with Sebastopol making the McDonalds Ballarat Football League post-season for the first time 19 years. When East and Burra met in the regular home and away season it was the Kangaroos who held the upper hand with convincing 31 and 42-point victories and no doubt walk in favourites to do so again. Both sides have their own injury concerns heading into this one, especially up forward with Brad Whittaker racing against the clock for the Kangas, while James Keeble is extremely unlikely to feature after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Kookaburras big victory over Lake Wendouree last week. Prediction – East Point by 24 points.

Sunbury v Melton – Elimination Final 1

This Sunday at Darley Park will feature the Sunbury Lions taking on the Melton Bloods in an all Eastern Bloc showdown that can truly go either way. Both sides had big convincing wins to the finish the home and away season off the back of losses and will be full of confidence that they can advance through this weekend. The Lions will be thrilled that spearhead Jarrah Maksymow found form with six goals in his last outing whilst the Bloods will be backing their own talls to cause headaches for Sunbury Coach, Travis Hodgson, all afternoon like they need three short weeks ago. Prediction – Melton by under a goal.

Darley v Redan – Elimination Final 2

The Lions are expected to make as many as seven changes to their senior line-up in their elimination final clash with Darley footy on Saturday afternoon. This will dramatically improve their side heading in against an inform Devils outfit that has won their last 15 games on their home deck of Darley Park. Nick Graham returned last week and starred with four majors, and along with brother Brian, they’ll have to be at their best to overrun a Redan outfit that now go in as underdogs and literally will play like they have nothing to lose. Prediction – Darley… but tip against Redan at your own Peril.
