The yachts still sailed despite weather

April 3, 2019 BY

VERY changeable winds and high gusts from the south swinging south westerly and sometimes westerly confronted sailors Ballarat Yacht Club racing on Saturday.

There were two races of two laps with pretty consistent wind from 12 to 18 knots in the first race and the slightly lower winds 8 to 12 knots in the second.

However, it was gusty with many boats capsizing but all crews recovered safely. It was also cold with a biting rain.

In all five jubilees, three lasers and three miscellaneous crews ventured out.
