hopes and dreams on display in art exhibition

October 26, 2017 BY

During September, an exhibition of artworks developed by students from Point Lonsdale Primary School, Queenscliff Primary School, St Aloysius Catholic Primary School and the Queenscliff Kindergarten is on display in the foyer of council’s offices at 50 Learmonth Street, Queenscliff.

The artworks were created at Council’s Children’s Summit in February this year. Council held the Children’s Summit to provide the next generation of Borough residents with an opportunity to have their say on the Council Plan 2017–2021, and the students delivered a host of valuable and creative ideas for Council to consider.

“The level of involvement of our younger residents in the consultation process was particularly pleasing, and made a major contribution to the drafting of the new Council Plan,” Borough of Queenscliffe mayor Tony Francis said.

The artworks demonstrate a strong sense of place and connection to Borough landmarks such as the beach, rock pools, parks and play grounds.

To share in the students’ vision for the Borough of Queenscliffe, drop in to Council’s offices between 9am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Artworks will be displayed until the end of this month.
