BFL finals venues confirmed

AFL Barwon has announced the venues for this year’s Bellarine Football Netball League finals series have been confirmed, including a return to Leopold for the first BFL final at the venue in about 15 years

Leopold’s Community Bank Oval will host the first weekend of BFNL finals. The 2018 grand final has already been confirmed to be hosted at Drysdale’s Mortimer Oval, which has held the past two BFNL grand finals.

The full finals series schedule is as follows:

• Week 1: August 18 – qualifying final at Leopold Community Bank Oval; August 19 – elimination final at Leopold Community Bank Oval
• Week 2: August 25 – second semi-final at Portarlington Recreation Reserve; August 26 – first semi-final at Portarlington Recreation Reserve
• Week 3: September 1 – preliminary final at Mortimer Oval, Drysdale
• Week 4: September 8 – grand final at Mortimer Oval, Drysdale

The Geelong Football League finals series has already been confirmed to be hosted at GMHBA Stadium, following a new three-year agreement for the stadium and the Kardinia Park Trust to host the GFNL finals.

The GFNL finals will be held across the weekends of September 1-2, 8-9 and September 15, concluding with the grand final on September 22.

The announcement of all female football finals venues, including the Division One and Division Two grand finals, will also be confirmed this week.
