A MASSIVE fortnight has concluded for Torquay Boardriders with the running of the third senior aggregate at Jan Juc and the last event of the Victorian Junior Titles finishing over the weekend at Jan Juc.

With some great conditions on offer, the third senior aggregate proudly supported by Torquay Dental was a highly entertaining affair with some amazing surfing going down all day.

Jan Juc served up its best impressions of a classy  beach break as surfers put up excellent scores all throughout the competition across all divisions. After coming off some amazing results in the Pro Junior series as well as making his CT debut at the Rip Curl Pro, Xavier Huxtable reigned supreme in the Open Men’s division with some great surfing. Huxtable finished with a 14.63 total out of a possible 20 points.

In the Open Women’s, Bella Wilson was too strong as she rose above her fellow competitors to get a classy win. Wilson’s best wave score was a strong 7.67 out of a possible 10-point wave score.

Other division winners were Ellie Harrison, Asher Lens, Angela Ball, Indi White, Adam Leslie, Damien Wilson and Rich Hibbins.

Well done to all competitors and thanks to Torquay Dental for being involved in another great event.

At the same location a week later, the best junior surfers in the state battled it out at Jan Juc for their respective division state titles.

With some amazing surf on offer on both days of competition, surfers were in for a treat, carving up the line-up.

From a club perspective, in the premier U/18 Boys division Indi White, Bohdie Williams and Noah Clifford were able to make the final of the division coming in second, third and fourth respectively.

Cole Fox was able to secure runner up in the state title with another good performance at Jan Juc.

The U/18 Girls division, Angela Ball and Angelique Kefalas were able to make the final four of the division with Ball securing runner-up in the state title with a second place at Jan Juc.

The U/16 Boys was also hotly contested. Ethan Huxtable was able take an event win and therefore secure the state title in the respective division. Asher Lens finished in the final. With a strong showing in the series, Paddy Hughes finished runner up in the series state title.

The U/16 Girls division saw Jazz Wylie take a commanding event win with Ellie Harrison in second and Emily McGettigan in third. With some great surfing throughout the series Harrison took out the state title and Wylie finished runner up.

The U/14 Boys division title went to Willis Droomer who did a clean sweep of the series taking a win in all three events to secure the state title.

The U/14 Girls was a close affair with Sarsha Pancic finished in second, third went to Isla Huppatz and coming in fourth was Sara Hickson.

Sarsha Pancic took out the state title and Sara Hickson finished in runner up.

Congratulations to all involved in another great junior series!

That’s a wrap. Stay cool.
