From The Mat

March 13, 2019 BY

Clare Christie, Doris Wendler, Theo Reyntjes, Helen Stephens, Craig Bassett and Ken Christie.

CHANCES for a Pennant flag for Anglesea are still alive and the club is hosting a Division 7 final between Belmont and Bareena this Saturday. Sovereign Financial Triples Round 5 winners were Lea Quail, Jill Miner and Ian Winchester with Graeme Mathias, Noel Johns and Lew Wilson holding the overall lead. Round 6 will be on Monday March 18.

A big turnout of Club and visiting bowlers enjoyed the Len Christie Memorial Day bowls. The event was attended by Ken and Clare Christie representing the Christie family. Craig Basset, Helen Stephens, Theo Reyntjes and Doris Wendler emerged winners from a countback to runners up Con Keet, Lindsay Reeve, Pam McColl and David Masson.

Well done to Con Keet, Wilma Buckley and Dennis Couch who landed jackpot in the last Monday Bowls Jackpot.

Upcoming events include “Remember a Mate” Day on Monday 25 March, the 2019 Invitation Classic Triples on Sunday 31 March, and Thank You Day free bowls for members at 1.00pm on Thursday 4 April, and all members are welcome to enter each event.
