Anglesea president Dick McDonald with Peter Austin and Ben Coyle.

THE season has started well despite some mixed weather. Many thanks to Geelong Cement Bowls Club who travelled down to Anglesea for a Pennant Practice match. Monday Jackpot social bowls has been a drawcard for members and visitors, with the jackpot quickly exceeding $220.

Congratulations to recent social and practice match winners: Peter Gordon, Ben Coyle, Dick McDonald, Doug Thomas, Lea Quail, Heather Campbell, Dot Winchester, John Koster, Leon Wilson and Terry Hope.

The new clubrooms have been a boon to the club and community, with local charities making good use of the facilities. Anglesea Community Network will be continuing a monthly Monday Movie afternoon, and the Pink Ribbon Luncheon raised over $3,000 in the fight against breast cancer. The Club proved an ideal venue to watch the Grand Final on three big screens, with social bowls sponsored by the catering team: Peter Austin and Ben Coyle.

The Great Ocean Properties Twilight Social League starts on October 10. Entries are being accepted for eight weeks of fun community bowls each Wednesday starting at 6pm.

The Sovereign Financial Monthly Triples will again offer nominated teams substantial prizes money for seven monthly matches conducted on a Monday, starting October 15 at 12.30pm.

A member’s information session will be held on Friday October 26 at 5.30pm.
