MELBOURNE Renegades have secured two new international signings to help in their title defence which begins at GMHBA Stadium on December 19.

Pakistani duo Usman Shinwari and Faheem Ashraf were both recently announced for the Renegades.

Shinwari, a rapid left-arm paceman, and Ashraf a hard hitting all-rounder, will join the likes of Big Bash League (BBL) stalwarts Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Kane Richardson and Dan Christian.

Shinwari played for the Renegades last year and maintained a formidable record, with an economy rate of just 6.14 in the competition.

He will play the opening five games before being replaced with English left-arm paceman Harry Gurney. Ashraf will play the first eight games before being replaced by Afghanistan allrounder Mohammad Nabi.

The Renegades will play a second game at GMHBA Stadium against Perth Scorchers on January 7.

Later in 2020, the stadium will also host some of the early games in the ICC T20 World Cup.
