Robertson rides wave to TCT breakfast

November 15, 2017 BY

LOCAL surfing hero and Surfing Victoria chief executive officer Adam Robertson will be the guest speaker at the next Torquay Commerce and Tourism (TCT) business breakfast.

The professional surfer was appointed as the new head of Victoria’s governing body for surfing in April 2015, taking over from long-time chief executive officer Max Wells.

He is perhaps best known for not only repeatedly winning the trials event at Bells Beach to secure a wildcard entry into the Rip Curl Pro, but also in 2009 making it all the way through to the final of the annual surfing competition – becoming the first local surfer to qualify for the men’s final in 40 years.

Robertson brought widespread industry knowledge to his role at Surfing Victoria after an extensive professional surfing career.

He was previously in the role of high performance manager at Surfing Victoria, coaching from the grassroots to the elite level of the sport.

He also has a strong background in innovation and program development and over the past five years has been an integral part of the development of Surfers in Suits, statewide program funding, coaching programs and developing strong relationships with state and local governments.

The TCT business breakfast will be held at Peppers the Sands Resort in Torquay on October 31 from 7.15am for a 7.30am start.

Tickets are $25 for TCT members and $35 for non-members.
