JUNIOR soccer is kicking off across the Geelong region after a coronavirus-imposed delay, and the Surfside Waves and Bellarine Sharks were among the first teams to get out there.
The Waves’ Under-12 Junior Girls side began their 2020 season in style on Saturday morning, knocking in seven goals and keeping a clean sheet against the Sharks at Shell Road Reserve.

In other results from the Under-12 Junior Girls, Drysdale defeated Golden Plains 3-0, North Geelong Warriors beat Bell Park 11-0, Lara United had the bye, and the Barwon Heads-Surf Coast game
was postponed.
MiniRoos competitions for Under 11s, Under 9s and Under 7s also began.
On Tuesday this week, Football Victoria announced all existing junior competitions in Greater Geelong and other regional areas would continue to be operated as fixtured.
