CVGT employment has been recognised as an inclusive employer by the Diversity Council of Australia.

The company was one of 82 organisations to be named an inclusive employer this year.

The award seeks to celebrate workplaces where there is a diversity of people who are respected, connected, and contribute to the success of the organisation.

“This achievement is an important recognition of our commitment to build a diverse, culturally aware and inclusive workforce as well as a testament to our continued focus to build economic and social inclusion for the communities in which we operate,” said CVGT Employment CEO Jason Russell.

This is the first time the company participated in awards which requires at least 65 per cent of employees to take part in an assessment.

“A big thanks to the 72 per cent of CVGT Employment staff that took the time to complete the assessment survey, it’s much appreciated,” said Mr Russell.

To become an inclusive employer, an organisation must exceed the benchmark in five out of six categories which are awareness of diversity and inclusion action, engagement with diversity and inclusion action, inclusive organisational climate, inclusive leadership, inclusive team and exclusion.

“CVGT Employment is thrilled to announce it exceeded the National Index Benchmark in all the six measures,” said CVGT Employment general manager Fleur Cousins.

“We listen to our people and the experiences of those we support. We understand that employment builds capacity for social and economic inclusion.”
