A RECORD number of finalists have been named for the Ballina Business Awards, with the gala event to celebrate excellence, growth and community impact across the region.

It will be held at the Ballina RSL Club on Saturday 11 July.

The event is run by the Ballina Chamber of Commerce with 64 finalists across 26 different categories.

Chamber executive officer Jon Dickson said the awards had continued to grow in both size and significance.

“There are so many businesses that come along on the night, the atmosphere is amazing, it’s quite electric,” he said.

“The format that we do really resonates with people because the night doesn’t drag on. It’s fast-moving and people have a lot of fun.”

Businesses from across a wide range of industries are represented among this year’s finalists, including aged care providers, banks, clubs, disability support organisations, healthcare services, retailers, hospitality venues, salons and professional service businesses.

Major awards to be presented on the night include Business of the Year, Excellence in Large Business and Excellence in Business and Professional Services, alongside categories recognising hospitality, retail, visitor experience, community organisations and emerging business excellence.

The awards program aims to reward outstanding achievement, encourage innovation and sustainability, and acknowledge the dedication of business owners and employees who have contributed to the region over the past 12 months.

Winners from the Ballina Business Awards will progress to regional and state-level competitions through the Business NSW awards program.
