Four people have been charged following an alleged armed robbery and assault near an ATM in Norlane last month.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives allege four offenders approached a 55-year-old woman on Robin Avenue about 4am on April 26.
Police allege one woman, armed with a weapon, demanded cash from the victim before assaulting her.
Three other offenders allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and assaulted her before stealing her bags and a small quantity of cash.
The group allegedly fled the scene on foot.
The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
As part of the investigation, police arrested two people on May 4.
A 31-year-old Norlane man was charged with armed robbery and remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on August 11.
A 27-year-old Norlane woman was charged with robbery and bailed to appear at the same court on August 11.
Police executed search warrants in Corio and Norlane on Wednesday, May 21, leading to the arrest of another man and woman.
During the searches, officers allegedly located a loaded firearm, drugs and prohibited weapons.
A 32-year-old Corio man was charged with armed robbery, affray, possess firearm, possess drug of dependence, possess prohibited weapon and possess proceeds of crime.
A 25-year-old Norlane woman was charged with armed robbery, affray, traffick drug of dependence, possess prohibited weapons and possess proceeds of crime.
Both were remanded to appear before Geelong Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 22.
Police investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
