Over-55s drawn to quality and choice at ReGen Living Waurn Ponds
Spacious open-plan living areas are among the features attracting strong early interest in the ReGen Living Waurn Ponds display homes. Generous bedrooms are designed to provide comfort and privacy while offering space for homeowners to personalise their new home.
FOR years, the idea of leaving the family home has carried an unspoken assumption: that moving on means settling for less.
At ReGen Living Waurn Ponds, four open display homes are proving otherwise, drawing strong early interest for the quality of their build and the freedom buyers have to make each home their own.
Oliver Hume’s flagship over-55s community has opened its display homes at 45 Danaher Avenue, giving the Geelong region its first chance to step inside and see what the project has been building towards.
Early feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors struck by the quality of the build and the architectural detail on show.
“People aren’t looking for less,” ReGen Living Waurn Ponds general manager Ashley Duster said. “They still want room for family to visit, space to entertain, quality finishes and a neighbourhood they feel connected to. If they can’t find that, they’ll often stay exactly where they are.”
Vaulted ceilings, square-set cornices, oversized bedrooms and layouts that balance entertaining with privacy sit alongside stone benchtops, premium appliances and included floor coverings, window furnishings, heating and cooling – so homeowners can move straight in.
For many visitors, the standout has been the chance to make a home their own.
Buyers can shape both the interior and exterior of their home through a considered range of options, with colour schemes and finishes selected in the community’s sales experience gallery.

“People are surprised by how much of the home is theirs to shape,” Duster said. “It’s not about choosing from a list – it’s about creating a home that feels genuinely personal.”
Rather than a uniform streetscape, Hamptons-inspired facades sit alongside contemporary designs, reflecting the character of the surrounding Waurn Ponds neighbourhood.
The homes are built by Sherridon Homes, part of the Australian-owned Mirrastone Group (formerly AHB Group), named Victoria’s largest builder in the HIA Housing 100 Report 2024–25.
Every home undergoes independent quality checks at key construction milestones.
“When you’re asking someone to move from a home they’ve lived in for decades, the quality has to speak for itself,” Duster said. “Being able to walk people through a finished home makes that easy. They can see it and feel it for themselves.”
Each is all-electric with solar panels, EV charging and access to a shared community electric vehicle – features designed to keep ongoing living costs down over the long term.
Beyond the homes, the masterplan sets out a community that will grow around homeowners over time, with plans including a clubhouse, active sports precinct, wellness space, workshop, community garden and walking trails through open green space.
Customisable two and three-bedroom homes are priced from $630,000 to $834,000, offering a genuine way to release equity while staying in the region you know.
