GEELONG locals will have the chance to experience Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre this Saturday for the very first time as the new waterfront venue opens its doors for a free community open day.

Running from 10am–4pm on Saturday 11 July, the event will welcome the community in to explore the venue, enjoy entertainment and celebrate a new gathering place for Geelong.

Set on the beautiful waterfront of Geelong, Nyaal Banyul has been designed as a space where people can come together for shared experiences, celebrations, performances, events and community connection.

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of the venue alongside live entertainment, local food and drinks, face painting and free family-friendly activities during the school holidays.

For many, Saturday will be the first opportunity to see inside the new space and discover what it will mean for Geelong into the future.

 

Whether attending with children, friends or extended family, the open day has been designed to encourage people explore the space and enjoy the atmosphere.

The event will also shine a spotlight on local suppliers and businesses, with regional flavours and products featured throughout the day.

Guests can also enter to win one of five hampers filled with goods from local makers and suppliers.

Nyaal Banyul will be an important new part of Geelong’s waterfront and community life, providing a space for everything from cultural events and entertainment through to conferences and major gatherings.

For many, Saturday will be the first opportunity to see inside the new space and discover what it will mean for Geelong into the future.
