GDFNL clubs set for big 2026 season opener

The Geelong & District Football Netball League has released its full fixture for the 2026 season, with Round One locked in for Saturday 11 April. Reigning premiers North Geelong will kick off their campaign away against Bannockburn at Victoria Park. Other opening round match-ups include Anakie hosting Belmont Lions, Geelong West facing Bell Post Hill at West Oval, Corio taking on East Geelong at Shell Oval, Thomson meeting Inverleigh at Godfrey Street, and Winchelsea welcoming Werribee Centrals to Eastern Reserve.

The season spans 18 home-and-away rounds and concludes with a finals series at St Albans Reserve. The Qualifying and Elimination Finals are set for the weekend of August 22–23, followed by the Second and First Semi-Finals on August 29–30. The Preliminary Final will be played on Saturday 5 September, with the Grand Final to crown the 2026 premiers on Saturday 12 September.
