WITH last weekend’s GCA1 matches being called off due to inclement weather, Round 5 will start this Saturday, November 15 in a one-day format.

In the Firsts, North Geelong will host St Peter’s at Osborne Park in an exciting second versus third clash.

The Magpies are yet to lose a match but sit third by ladder points, while the Saints sit one spot above them following two consecutive wins.

Last season’s premiers have done it quite easily so far this season and face their biggest challenge yet in St Peter’s, who are coming off two straight 240+ run performances with the bat. Saints skipper Luke Ford enters the clash off a strong 117-run effort against Newtown & Chilwell in Round 4.

Ladder leaders East Belmont will travel to Bisinella Oval to take on the seventh-placed Lara, looking to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Cats, who jumped up into division one this season, will look to steady the ship after two straight disappointing performances with the bat.

South Barwon will host St Joseph’s in an intriguing clash, looking to start off at an impressive 3-1 following a last place finish last season.

Meanwhile, Joeys have crashed back down to earth after their round two thrashing of East Belmont and must win to remain in sync with the top end of the ladder.

After reaching last season’s grand final, the Two Blues have started 0-3 and will host a struggling Grovedale in search of their first victory.

The Tigers jumped into fifth place following their maiden win of the season last weekend, thanks to six wickets from Riley Stone and an unbeaten 112 from Josh Windus.

In GCA2, Highton will host Geelong West, Bell Park will host Torquay, Geelong City will host Leopold and Alexander Thomson will host Bell Post Hill.
