WITH the Murray River expected to remain high longer allows navigation beyond Torrumbarry Weir and now Upstream to Barmah, there’s more opportunity to join the PS Emmylou as it cruises to Koondrook and beyond.

After the first three seven-night cruises now sold out, and the river set to stay up due to Hume Weir releases, Murray River Paddlesteamers has now scheduled a range of new departures during October and November.

They include adventures downstream to Koondrook and now upstream to Barmah. Koondrook cruises can be booked as one-way or return.

Open to all regional Victorians & now NSW border bubble residents who have had at least one vaccination, these very special limited cruises are available only while the river is running high.

“There has been great interest from the local community for these limited cruises and now that we know the river will remain high longer, we are delighted to be able to schedule more departures,” said Craig Burgess, direct of Murray River Paddlesteamers

“We only have six cabins left for our Koondroook cruises, so we have taken the opportunity to schedule another departure and also some weekend two-night upstream cruises to Barmah.

“The new three-night Torrumbarry Weir return cruises will enjoy going through the lock twice on their cruises which have been a real highlight for our guests”.

The PS Emmylou carries just 16 guests and powered by a restored 1906 steam engine. The boat has been totally refurbished with deluxe cabins and ensuites,

The paddle steamer featured in the hit 1983 TV mini-series, All the Rivers Run, starring Sigrid Thornton, and is still one of the most recognisable and iconic paddle steamers in Australia.

Guests on the cruises will experience tranquil and remote Victorian riverside evening moorings only available when the river runs high, allowing passengers to experience the serenity and wildlife of the bush at night.

Fares include onboard meals, selected beers and wines with dinner and soft drink, bottled water and tea and coffee throughout the cruise.
