Pyrenees Art Exhibition rescheduled

September 6, 2021 BY

Haddon linocut artist Vida Pearson is among the 800 entries in this year’s Pyrenees Art Exhibition, which has now been rescheduled until late September.

DUE to COVID restrictions in place in June, the organising committee of the fifteenth Annual Community Bank Beaufort Pyrenees Art Exhibition were obliged to postpone the event.

With the overwhelming support from the participating artists, and all the groups involved in making the event happen, the committee are very pleased that they decided not to cancel the exhibition and only postpone the event.

The new dates are Friday 24, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September, COVID restrictions permitting.

To those who have purchased or wish to purchase tickets for the official opening, please note that it will now take place on Thursday, 23 September at 7.30pm.

Tickets in the art exhibition raffle, with the first prize of an original watercolour painting by noted Ballarat artist Jon Crawley valued at $750, will continue to be sold and will be drawn on the final day of the event.

Delivery dates for the entered art works are now Sunday 19 and Tuesday 21 September between 10am and 4pm at the Shire Hall, Lawrence Street, Beaufort.

Other events to be held over the Art Exhibition weekend are the Rotary Club of beaufort’s pop-up second-hand book sale at the RSL Hall in Willoby Street, and the quilt exhibition in the Beeripmo Centre in Lawrence Street. Art Trax Gallery at the Beaufort Railway Station will also be open, so there will be something to interest everyone.

Note that all events will be run under strict COVID safe protocols with a marshal, QR Codes, wearing of masks, social distancing and any and all current restrictions as dictated by the Victorian Government’s Health regulations.

Having to cancel the Art Exhibition in 2020, and postpone earlier this year, the committee are very hopeful that this event will go ahead.

They are keeping their fingers crossed that further COVID lockdowns can be avoided and they will be able to present a wonderful exhibition and welcome many friends and visitors to Beaufort.
