Following a challenging year, demand for graduates across nursing, early childhood, aged care, community services, trades, cookery and tourism is at an all-time high.

The National Skills Commission projects long-term growth in service industries over the next five years with healthcare and social assistance expected to receive the largest growth over the period, increasing employment roles by almost 250,000.

Accommodation and food services follow with an estimated 139,900 now job roles, and an additional 131,000 new positions are expected in the professional, scientific and technical services field. A further 118,600 jobs are projected for the education and training sector.
