Boost for injured wildlife

October 18, 2018 BY

NATIVE animals that are hurt will get more help under two initiatives recently announced by the state government.

An animal shelter operator in Snake Valley will receive just over $1,900 as a Wildlife Rehabilitator Grant, while a state-wide smartphone app called Help for Injured Wildlife has also gone live.

The app provides information about wildlife rehabilitators, rescue organisations and veterinarians in local areas who can care for the type of animal in need of help, such as a kangaroo or koala.

Information on both the Wildlife Rehabilitator Grant and the Help for Injured Wildlife app can be found at wildlife.vic.gov.au.
