AN adults-only trivia night is returning as part of an annual fundraising initiative for Rokewood Kindergarten.

The event will take place on Friday, 5 August at the Rokewood Memorial Hall, and coordinator Rachelle Carter said it will offer time away from the kids, for the kids.

“It’s giving the parents and the community a night out while feeding back into things in support of a worthy cause,” she said.

“Last year, we were able to raise funds with a monster raffle but this is something that they can actually have some fun with.

“There’ll be an esky full of alcohol to win, silent auctions, raffle prizes and a prize for best dressed.”

The event is Rokewood Kindergarten’s largest annual fundraiser, with previous iterations allowing for a veranda enclosure and regular toy and equipment maintenance.

Trivia with Wheels’ Greg Wheelahan will host the night, and Rokewood Kindergarten supervisor and teacher Megan Young said the funds will go towards two key projects.

“We have quite a large veranda and a ramp that goes to the playground area. The covering over the ramp stops short before the playground and rain comes in easily,” she said.

“So, we’ll definitely be getting that roof extended, and we’ll also be looking into some soundproofing for our room because it does get loud and echoey.

“We’ve raised up to $3000 or $4000 on our trivia nights and it’s great because instead of looking towards the same families every time it does appeal to the wider community.”

Entry is $15 and contact Ms Carter on 0417 725 394 to make a booking.
