OVER the years people and business have let old traditions slide by the wayside, such as dressing up shop fronts for Christmas, Easter and other notable celebrations on the calendar, including that one day in September when the AFL grand final week comes around.

One business bucking the trend is Eureka Concrete with the owners, the Beaston family, still maintaining the football tradition and this month they have decorated their main building on LaTrobe street, Delacombe, with AFL teams that will figure in the Grand Final.

Employees and owner saw fit to oblige the Ballarat Times News Group photographer, last week, so they could take part in the festivities and ham it up with a Sherrin ball.

What will the Beaston family do next, who knows? Maybe the pictures of the greatest racehorse mare in the world, Winks, could adorn the front window of their building.

If you want to know, you will have to drive past after the football grand final to find out.
