Midlands triples conclude

THE triples bowls competition hosted by Midlands Bowls Club has come to close for the season.

Seventy-two women from 13 clubs enjoyed the final day, and fourth round, on the greens. Organisers thanked the final round sponsor, Safety Link, for their support.

There were eight, two-game winners, and Azaleas – Sandy Middleton, Lyn Maple and Val Duggan – were runners up on a countback.

The winners for the day were the Wisterias, made up of Marg Duggan, Wilma Jenkins and Sandy Grano.

Best first game winners were Strelitzias – Margaret Alpin, Rosie Hickman and Maree Phelan, and the best second game winners were the Lilies of the Valley – Nora Walters, Norma Day and Helen Burzacott.

Scattered Rinks went to lead Ruth Nunn, second Kath Alsop and skip Joy Watson.

Aggregate prizes for the best scores over the four rounds were also presented.

The aggregate winners were the Orchids – Bethany Dixon, Val Savage and Jan Vincent with 97 points.

Runners up, on a countback from the Lilies of the Valley, were the Dahlias – Julie Worrell, Marie Arthurson and Barb Voigt on 96 points.
