A colourful fundraiser will see multiple clubs join forces for the Wear a Tutu for Our Kids campaign which supports sick and injured children receiving medical care across the region.
The official day will be held on Friday, 31 July with the inaugural event last year raising just over $10,000.
The campaign raises money for Our Kids, which funds vital medical equipment and services for children receiving treatment through hospitals and health facilities across the Northern Rivers.
This year’s campaign has expanded through a partnership between Ballina RSL, Cherry Street Sports, Club Lennox, Lismore Workers Club and Ballina Golf & Sports Club, with businesses, schools, sporting clubs and community groups invited to take part.

Doctors, nurses and local hospitals also came on board last year and will wear tutus to work on the day,
All participants are encouraged to wear tutus at work, school, training or community events, host fundraising activities such as morning teas, raffles or workplace challenges, or make direct donations throughout July.
Ballina RSL and Cherry Street Sports chief executive officer Guy Diven said the campaign had already demonstrated the generosity of the local community.
“Ballina RSL and Cherry Street Sports have proudly supported Our Kids since its inception,” he said.
“When the idea for a Tutu Day was proposed, we knew it was something special.
“We’re excited to see the wider community join us in this fun and meaningful event.”
The concept was developed by Our Kids fundraising coordinator Rebekka Batista and Ballina RSL marketing and community engagement manager Claire Tyson to encourage broader community participation in fundraising.
Organisers said every dollar raised helps ensure local children have access to specialist equipment and services closer to home, easing the burden on families during difficult times.
To mark the occasion, Ballina RSL will host a community gathering from 5pm, with the first drink free for guests who arrive wearing a tutu.
Community members wanting to get involved can create a fundraising page, donate or organise their own fundraising events through tutu-for-our-kids.raiselysite.com/about
