DEMENTIA Alliance will host the Caring Together Expo next Monday 25 May at Reflections at Eppalock.

The expo will bring together carers, people living with dementia, families, local residents and service providers for a day of practical support, connection and celebration.

The day will also see the launch of two resources developed by Dementia Alliance: the Caring Together Handbook and the Community-Led Dementia Care Masterclass Series and Handbook.

Dementia Alliance founder and president Sandra Slatter said the expo is designed to create a welcoming space where carers and families can access information, ask questions and feel less alone.

“Carers often tell us they do not know where to start, who to ask, or what support is available until they are already overwhelmed,” Slatter said.

“The Caring Together Expo brings people, services and community together in one place in a warm, practical and human way.

“It is about connection, culture, dignity and making sure carers feel supported.”

Small group sessions, information stalls, and guided tours of Reflections at Eppalock and Costerfield House will be led.

There will be activities, music, food and opportunities for informal conversations with service providers and organisations.

Slatter said the event reflects the broader purpose of Reflections at Eppalock.

“Reflections is not just a site; it is a place where people can see what dementia-inclusive community can look and feel like,” she said.

“We want people to come along, have a cup of tea, talk to someone, join an activity, ask questions and leave feeling more confident and connected.”

Free copies of the Caring Together Handbook will be available to carers on the day.

The Caring Together Expo will start at 10.30am at Reflections at Eppalock, Themeda Close (off Dunlop Road), Kimbolton.
