Bulldogs aiming to break Pleasant’s streak

NORTH Bendigo will be aiming to end Mount Pleasant’s unbeaten streak when they meet in this Saturday’s sixth round in Agnico Eagle Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL senior footy.
The Bulldogs make their way to Mount Pleasant’s ground in Toolleen for a 2.20pm start to the rematch of the ’25 grand finalists.
There’s been plenty of changes to both teams since Mounts defeated North Bendigo by five points in last September’s grand final in Huntly.
Inclusions for the Blues include Xavier Carter, Jett Nicholas, Adam Triplett and Alex Wharton.
A Mount Pleasant team coached by Josh Hann, playing, and Cam Carter, non-playing, has the experience of gun defender William Wallace, brilliant forward Ben Weightman, Bryce Hinneberg and Brodie Montague.
The Blues dominated the second half of last Saturday’s match at Elmore to win by 57 points.
North Bendigo squared the ledger at two-two as it defeated White Hills by 113 points at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.
Key players for the Bulldogs who are coached by Rob Bennett, non-playing, and Ryan Hartley, playing, include Bailey Cain, Liam Dillon, Jordan Ford, Jordan Hargreaves and Dylan Klemm.
After a superb win on Colbinabbin’s ground, Heathcote returns to Pigeon Park in Barrack Reserve to take on Elmore.
In-form players for the Saints include Rhys Bolton, Stefan Rasinac, Will Tobin and Dillon Williams.
A team coached by Andrew Saladino, non-playing, and Liam Jacques, non-playing, will fight to stay in the top five.
Leitchville Gunbower and Colbinabbin are both on the rebound from defeat as they clash at Gunbower.
The LG Bombers were overrun after quarter-time of the showdown with a Lockington Bamawm United team which had former Essendon captain Dyson Heppell kick three goals in a one-off appearance as the club marked Mates for Men’s Health Foundation day.
After a week’s rest, Harlowe Huntly Hawks are back in their nest at Strauch Reserve to take on the Lockington Bamawm United Cats.
The Hamish Morcom-coached Hawks are desperate to break their season ‘duck’ as they take on the Jayden Howe-coached LBU which is in third place.
