A CHANCE to qualify for finals is at stake when Heathcote takes on Bendigo East in next Monday’s division three match in Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields’ midweek pennant bowls.

The Saints will be on home greens to play the Magpies from 10am in the 14th and final round of the home-and-away series.

Heathcote must win and needs White Hills to beat Castlemaine to qualify for finals.

The Saints scored a four-shot win at Bendigo East in round 7.

Heathcote rolled to a 79-51 win against Harcourt last Monday.

Excessive heat leading up to and on Saturday meant all round 13 matches in the weekend pennant were called off.

Heathcote takes on second-placed South Bendigo in this Saturday’s play on the Diggers’ greens in Quarry Hill.

Both teams will be fighting to gain the double chance in finals.

A slim chance of Heathcote reaching the division six finals is now gone.

The Saints are at home this Saturday against Kangaroo Flat.

The Australia Day fundraiser was an outstanding success.

Although the day’s bowls was cancelled because of the heat, a tally of more than $4200 was raised for the Heathcote Community House Food Relief Fund.

Heathcote Bowling Club thanks the raffle prize donors, ticket sellers and buyers, and all who assisted to make the day a resounding success.
