MOUNT Pleasant faces another big threat to its unbeaten record when it takes on Leitchville Gunbower in Saturday’s 10th round of senior football in the Agnico Fosterville Gold Mine Heathcote DFNL season.

The Blues are back on home turf at Toolleen to face the Bombers from 2.20pm.

The past two Mount Pleasant home games ended in draws against North Bendigo, 90-all, and Heathcote, 98-all.

The reigning premier is still top of the ladder and a win clear of Colbinabbin.

A Blues team jointly coached by Josh Hann, playing, and Cam Carter, non-playing, kicked off this season with a hard-fought 73-68 win against Leitchville Gunbower in Gunbower.

Brilliant forward Ben Weightman kicked seven goals in the drawn clash with Heathcote and leads the competition’s goalkicking race on 33 goals.

Players to watch for Mount Pleasant include key defender William Wallace, rover Jack Hickman, the skilful Xavier Carter and Alex Wharton.

The Joel Donehue-coached Leitchville Gunbower fought for a 13-point win on the White Hills ground in Scott Street.

Ryan Allan and Billy Hawken both kicked five goals in the Bombers’ fifth win.

Key players in the LG team include Jye Keath, Nic Cattapan, and Blake and Jack Dye.

It’s the Bulldogs against the Cats as North Bendigo takes on Lockington Bamawm United at Bendigo Club Oval in North Bendigo’s Atkins Street.

A Bulldogs team coached by Rob Bennett, non-playing, and Ryan Hartley, playing, regained its place in the five after a 58-point win at home against Harlowe Huntly Hawks.

A five-three record has the Lockington Bamawm United Cats sitting on the third rung of the ladder.

The Jayden Howe-coached LBU won its latest hit-out at Elmore by 46 points.

Huntly will be in its nest at Strauch Reserve to take on White Hills.

In round 1 it was the Brad McConnell and Lachie Sawyer-coached Demons who beat the Hamish Morcom-coached Hawks by two goals.

Refreshed by the bye, Colbinabbin is back on its turf at MJ Morgan Oval to play Elmore.

The Linton Jacobs-coached Colbinabbin is likely to have too much goalscoring power for the Luke Freeman-coached Bloods.

Heathcote has the bye.
