April Holiday Animal Program

Little Animal Encounters are part of this April School Holiday Program

PORT MacDonnell Community Complex is bringing farmyard fun to local families these April school holidays.

From Saturday 11 April to Sunday 26 April 2026, the Community Complex is providing daily animal-themed craft activities as part of its school holiday program, from pompom sheep and goat puppets to do-it-yourself animal masks.

The centrepiece of the program is the hands-on animal experience presented by Little Animal Encounters. This special event offers the chance to gently interact with a variety of animals and learn in an exciting and engaging way.

The event will be taking place:

• Monday 20 April 2026, 10:00am-12:00pm

• Port MacDonnell Community Complex, 5-7 Charles Street Port MacDonnell

• Free with no bookings required.

Chief Executive Officer Gary Button is pleased that Council can provide this opportunity for families in the district.

“This is a wonderful event for animal lovers of all ages,” Mr Button said. “Importantly, it shows the necessity of spaces like the Community Complex that foster learning and connection.”

On the day, there will also be an animal badge-making activity inside the Community Complex to keep the fun going, and a selection of books and library materials themed around animals ready for borrowing.

The Community Complex is open from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 11am to 3pm on weekends throughout the April school holidays. The Complex will be closed on Saturday, April 25, for Anzac Day.
