Four community groups have been the beneficiaries of the latest round of Lions Club of Gambier City donations in a bid to ensure their fine work in the community can continue unabated.

The club sponsors Lexi, who is part of the Story Dog Program, visiting the Suttontown Primary School for reading sessions with four students and that deal was extended for a further two years.

Lexi was on hand at the recent meeting where the donations were handed over, which was a treat for Lions Club members.

In Home Hospice Care Mount Gambier was also a recipient of Lions Club funds with the donation set to help fund the printing of new brochures to promote the expansion of their services in the community.

Locally established charity Four Reasons Why, with a narrow focus on helping families in the community that are doing it tough, also received support from the Lions Club of Gambier City.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Mount Gambier Support Group was also on hand to receive a financial injection courtesy of donation tins that the Lions Club curate at the airport and the hospital, continuing that support on the back of the statistic that suggests there are around three services a day flying in and out of Mount Gambier.
