BELOVED Australian actress and award-winning author Judy Nunn will return to Mount Gambier on Wednesday, November 12, at 7pm in City Hall to launch her 19th novel – Pilbara, a gripping historical saga set in the wild frontier of Western Australia’s northwest in the late 1800s.

Best known for her stage and television career in Australia, including roles in Sons and Daughters, Prisoner, and Home and Away, Judy began writing in the 1990s and quickly became a renowned author.

City of Mount Gambier community development coordinator Kristi Brooks said in the 90s Judy turned her hand to writing and her first three books became instant bestsellers.

“Now, with 19 books to her name, she is one of Australia’s most successful authors,” Mrs Brooks said.

Pilbara follows the Burton family’s journey from England to Australia, as they travel from the lush green farming land to the brutal landscape of Australia, determined to rebuild their name and legacy. As they struggle to survive, they are drawn into a battle for power and land.

“Judy is renowned for bringing the stories of our land and its people vividly to life,” Mrs Brooks said. “Her trademark authenticity and unforgettable characters resonate deeply, lingering in the hearts of readers long after the final page is turned.”

The evening will include a Q&A session with Judy, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase and have books signed, including Pilbara and a selection of her previous titles.

Bookings for both events are essential via Mount Gambier Library on (08)8721 2540 or online at www.mountgambier.sa.gov.au/library under Programs and Events.
