Birdie helps Jennings take out stableford

A heavy course was faced by 30 Ladies at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last Wednesday, teeing off in the sponsored Hudson Roofing & Plumbing stableford event.
Playing two shots below her Handicap (19) captain Bernie Jennings took the honours in Division 1 with 38 Points.
Bernie had 90 off the stick, comprising of a split of 20/18=38 Points.
Aiding Bernie’s score was a birdie on the Par 3, 8th Hole earning four points, plus carding three pars as well.
Often mentioned Helen Heaver (Handicap 20) took out second placing, winning on a countback from Jan Shanahan.
Helen’s split for the two nines was 16/18=34 points and included in her score were six three pointers.
Division 2 winner was Kate McCormick (Handicap 27) with 36 points, comprising of 19/17=36 points, earning four points on the 12th Par 4 Hole and adding six three pointers to her scorecard.
Long time member Marie Douglas (Handicap 27) won second placing with 17/18=35 points.
Marie’s consistency was the key component in her game recording five three pointers.
Seven balls were given out to Jan Shanahan 34 points down to Deb Fowler 31 points on a countback.
The speciality prizes were won by A Grade – Helen Heaver, B Grade – Deb Fowler and C Grade Sue Ryan.
NTP on the Par 3 , 8th Hole went to Jennifer Van Rijthoven.

Seventeen ladies contested a Par Round at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last Saturday in heavy conditions and drizzly rain.
Back from injury Faye Mainwaring is hitting her straps and played two shots under her handicap of (17).
Faye took out the honours for the day with a score of 2up.
Second placing went to Jennifer Van Rijthoven (Handicap 11) with 2 down. Jennifer’s split for the day was Square (Front Nine) and 2 down (Back Nine).
Nearest the Pin on the 8th, Par 3 Hole went to Helen Gregory and on the 16th Par 3 Hole Jennifer Van Rijthoven was the closest to the pin.
