RCA Villages, who run Armstrong Green Retirement Village, understand there are a lot of options when it comes to choosing a village in the area.

The location of Armstrong Green’s Retirement Village is one of its greatest features, allowing residents to be able to walk to The Village Warralily Shopping Centre, where they have access to a supermarket and a range of medical facilities.

RCA Villages chief operating officer Jo O’Keefe said residents were never isolated at Armstrong Green.

“Right outside the village is a public transport bus stop with links to the train stations and the Waurn Ponds shopping centre, as well as Geelong, so you can live there without a car.”

The team at RCA Villages pour a lot of energy into the design of the homes, featuring high ceilings, double garages, and big bedrooms.

“With plenty of storage space inside the garages, most of them are big enough to have a workbench, the kitchens are standard size kitchens that you’d find in any normal house, not a retirement villa, so the homes are big,” Ms O’Keefe said.

Residents will also feel the benefits that come with living in an over 55s community, with lots of resident-led activities.

“There’s a lot of community support, there’s always someone to have a chat to, there are activities that you can join,” Ms O’Keefe said.

The village also features an orchard of fruit trees that has just been planted, along with raised garden beds and veggie plots for those with green thumbs.

“We weren’t looking for a ‘lifestyle’- we were looking for a style of life – and there’s a difference between the two,” Armstrong Green resident Gordon said.

Fellow resident Margaret said she felt like she had never moved.

Armstrong Green resident Margaret’s grandchildren visited her at the recent open day.

“I love living at Armstrong Green, not just because of the beautiful houses or wonderful, inclusive, kind and caring residents, or the fact the supermarket and doctors are a stone’s throw away.”

Armstrong Green Retirement Village has 40 villas left for purchase, with displays open seven days a week from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday, and 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.
