Surf Coast Secondary College commenced in 2012 as the only stand-alone government secondary school in Torquay.

“We are proud to be the school of choice for over 1000 young people in the local Surf Coast area,” College principal Erin Wright said.

The College is recognised as a leader in the provision of a contemporary and challenging teaching and learning program, coupled with a strong focus on developing student relationships that support wellbeing.

“We create a safe social and physical environment that helps all our students learn and succeed,” Ms Wright said.

“Our students are challenged and supported, developing the knowledge and skills that allow them to achieve their best.”

The College has a focus on the development of core literacy and numeracy skills, while striving to develop students to be confident, successful, and valuable citizens in their local and global communities.

As a leading co-educational public school on the beautiful Surf Coast of Victoria, Surf Coast Secondary College emphasises positive relationships and focuses on getting to know each student as an individual.

“The main goal we have as a staff group is for SCSC to be the school of choice for all students in our neighbourhood area and I am supremely confident that the current programs we have in place already meet this high ambition,” Ms Wright said.

“We encourage all our students to develop high expectations for themselves, their work, and their behaviour.

“This involves working with parents to meet the individual needs of every student, to achieve their academic and co-curricular goals and dreams.

“Parents and visitors compliment us on the warm and orderly school atmosphere and our strong sense of community.

“I feel proud of the significant accomplishments of our students and the results our College has achieved in becoming a better choice in education.”
