Mick Fanning’s surfing career is celebrated in style

Kelly Slater, Stephanie Gilmore, Tyler Wright, Gabriel Medina, Julian Wilson and more… the world’s best surfers came out to celebrate the retirement of 3x World Champion Mick Fanning.

Held at the RACV Great Ocean Road Ballroom in Torquay, Victoria, the gala was the lead-in to one of the most historic events on the World Surfing Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. This is the event that Mick Fanning has chosen as his final World Tour event.

“This event is so special to me, as it’s where I won my first big World Tour event. It’s a lot quieter than the Gold Coast, and I feel at home here,” Fanning said.

Mick will go on to surf his final event at the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, which began early this morning.
