Celebrating four-legged friends

October 30, 2017 BY

ABOUT 2,000 humans attended the Pets Day Out at the Warralily Market last Sunday with their four-legged friends, from tiny teacup chihuahuas to giant great danes, a ferret, a goat and even a blue-tongued lizard.

Pets were pampered with bubble baths and groomed by local Torquay business Salty Paws Grooming, while guilty dogs had their mug shots taken by photographers from Frog Dog Studios.

Families enjoyed tunes by the Jazz Dogs, with plenty of tasty options available for lunch including fresh fish and chips, American-style slow-cooked burgers, and stunning raw vegan desserts by Lady Rawsome for dessert.

There were an abundance of stores with local
crafts, doggie treats and accessories for both pets and their owners.

Children were thrilled with their animalthemed face-painting and for those without pets, were about walk their pet balloons from My Best Buddies.

PETstock Waurn Ponds handed out free show bags full of goodies and sponsored the major prizes at the pet parade.

The ladies from Melbourne Canine Freestyle and their pooches wowed the crowd with their tricks and discipline display and were happy to provide one on one training to teach other owners how to get their pet to do amazing tricks too.

Meanwhile, on October 7, Wallington’s WRG will be celebrating responsible dog ownership with a massive dog day out.

Pet owners and enthusiasts alike can receive pet advice, watch dog training demonstrations, join in a friendly community dog competition and enjoy free face painting.

Running from 10am-1pm, all sociable dogs are welcome on a lead. Wallington’s WRG is located at 370 Grubb Road, Wallington.
