Colours of the seascape on show

December 29, 2017 BY

The Surf Coast Gallery will showcase the Surf Coast Seascapes exhibition daily from 10am-4pm From January 6 until February.

The exhibition will showcase paintings from local artists Adam Stanley and Jackie Burke, as well as glass waves from Jennifer O’Sullivan. Peter Barfoot will be exhibiting wooden benches, tables and etching with materials all locally sourced.

Exhibition Curator Adam Stanley is looking forward to sharing work not often seen by art enthusiasts in the region.

“I’m really excited to showcase this exhibition inspired by our ocean,” Adam said.

“We were able to get the exhibition ready in one month but made entire renovations to the gallery including the addition of walls, repainting and just making it look fresh and new.

“I hope those who come and visit the exhibition are able to see something they haven’t seen before. It’s very different from what would traditionally be expected.

“Jennifer O’Sullivan’s glass of waves is really interesting, incorporating many colours you would see in the ocean environment.”

The Surf Coast Gallery is located at Shop 2/12 Gilbert Street, Torquay.

Opening night is January 5 from 5pm-9pm.
