These are new and exciting times for Dani Salvo, the local ceramic artist and maker behind ‘Be My Keeper’.

Due to the popularity of her ceramics classes, she is finally stepping out from the security of her gorgeous home studio into a new space including a small gallery, Be My keeper Makers Studio and The Keepers Gallery.

Dani’s work is as busy and as varied as her life, she creates both functional and sculptural works, her desire is simple and that is to keep her work authentic and her own.

Normally an illustrative and figurative sculptor, she is currently addicted to the exploration of ceramic abstract form, simplifying her surface treatment and becoming less descriptive… talking less!

Surface treatments include black, luscious golds to speckled greens and blues, a satisfying challenge pushing her out of her comfort zone.

For those aspiring ceramicists, you can enroll in one of Dani’s classes and have access to a fully equipped studio.

Dani believes in fostering fearless creativity, some students work on large sculptures and others on the finest porcelain, individuality naturally thrives.

Caroline Finkeld another local potter facilitates ‘Throw like a Pro’ wheel only classes which will be extended to Saturday/Sunday mornings.

The studio will also introduce Life Drawing classes with Heather Stewart, and classes for children and young people so stay tuned.

Dani welcomes you to visit her fabulous new studio during the Bellarine Arts Trail, you won’t be disappointed!

It’s at Shed 4, 39 Smithton Grove in Ocean Grove.

Dani Salvo creates both functional and sculptural works.
