Dublin meets Fitzroy in revamped local pub

October 11, 2018 BY

Murphy’s rooftop bar is a hit.

Murphy’s is Geelong’s hottest new venue with something for everyone – a vibrant front bar, restaurant and rooftop bar.

Since opening the rooftop bar to the public earlier this year, which includes both a rooftop terrace and sky deck providing uninterrupted views of Corio Bay, the You Yangs and even the city of Melbourne, it has no doubt become Geelong’s go-to venue.

Co-owner Shaun Aspinall said that after two years of research – to over 50 venues in Melbourne and overseas – the inspiration of the revamped venue was a Dublin-meets-Fitzroy vibe.

“If you go to an Irish Pub in Dublin, it wouldn’t have ‘Irish’ in the name. We are unmistakably and unashamedly an Australian pub too – Dublin meets Fitzroy.

“We have worked really hard at creating the right vibe in the venue – from downstairs to upstairs, the music to the décor – we are genuinely passionate about creating a great customer experience. Pizza or parmi, beer or cocktail – the customer comes first every time!”

Centrally located on Aberdeen Street with a private carpark at the rear – Murphy’s is open for lunch and dinner six days a week from 11.30am till late.

The award-winning restaurant brings a flavour-packed lunch and dinner menu with an extensive offering including starters, pub classics such as beef and guinness pie, steaks, burgers and more. It also boasts $15 and $20 express lunch options with pre-order available by phone.

The rooftop has a dedicated pizza kitchen and the chef, Enzo, is from the birthplace of pizza – Naples, Italy. You can look through the kitchen window, say hi and watch him work his magic! You can also order a range of snack options and drool-worthy Nutella desserts.
