May 2, 2019 BY

FRIDAY 3/5

GEELONG AFTER DARK
Geelong will transform into a hub of creativity and artistic exploration, with this year’s instalment of Geelong After Dark set to grace the city centre in style. Over 78 acts from music, street performances, installations, exhibitions, dance and
projections will keep the momentum going while the sun turns in for the evening. The event launched five years ago and has since seen audiences grow from 6,000 to 20,000-plus. Guests can navigate Little Malop Street’s laneways, uncover hidden spaces and heritage buildings after dark in all-inclusive and interactive experience. For more information, visit the website geelongafterdark.com.au.

SATURDAY 4/5

KYLE LIONHART AT TORQUAY HOTEL
The Torquay Hotel will play host to yet another Aussie musician, Kyle Lionhart, as he debuts his newest single, “So Close”.
Kicking off his 14-date tour in Newcastle late last month, the Byron Bay singer/ songwriter will perform in Torquay alongside special guests from 8pm. “I wrote this song in the midst of chaos. Everything was bubbling up, all my past
decision, mistakes, we’re haunting me again. Everything I thought I had built a solid foundation under started falling
apart and it all started with an argument with someone I love and look up to,” says Kyle on his new single. General admission tickets are $24.13 per person (booking fee included in price). Strictly 18-plus only.
Tickets available via eventbrite.com.au.

SUNDAY 5/5

REPAIR CAFÉ SURF COAST
Repair Café Surf Coast will be on hand this Sunday at Surf Coast Secondary College to help fix your broken and worn-out items. Volunteers will attempt to give your beloved goods a new lust for life, from clothing, textiles, furniture, bikes, jewellery, mechanical and electrical items. If you’re unsure what’s wrong, volunteers can diagnose and let you know what you need to purchase to get your item in working order again. Enjoy a cup of tea, read a magazine or chat to passers while
you wait to have your item returned. The event is free and open from 10am-2pm.
