Big screen along the Bellarine

Movie buffs, get ready, as north Bellarine is getting its very own film festival this weekend. The inaugural North Bellarine Film Festival will be screened from Friday to Sunday across three venues in Drysdale and Portarlington. Four international films will be shown at the Black Box Theatre at the Potato Shed in Drysdale during the festival weekend, along with a variety of Australian short films. A number of free activities will be held at the Portarlington Neighbourhood House including international animation shorts, a display of drones, a virtual reality experience plus and a friendly family film. World of words

A world-class line-up of authors, writers and personalities will feature at the fourth annual Word for Word National Non-Fiction Festival this weekend at the Geelong Library and Heritage Centre. With 80 presenters appearing at 44 events over the festival weekend, there is something for everyone. Topical panel discussions including politics, death and dying, history, climate change, feminism and faith are proving. Word for Word is the only writers’ festival dedicated to celebrating non-fiction writing in all facets and forms. A Kransky kind of Christmas

The Kransky Sisters, featuring the enigmatic talents of Annie Lee, Christine Johnston and Carolyn Johns, as Mourne, Eve and Dawn Kransky, will be travelling to GPAC this Sunday at 5pm for their A Very Kransky Christmas Show. From Enya to Silent Night, Daft Punk to the 12 Days of Christmas, these dysfunctional sisters take family get-togethers to a new level.
