Jim Jefferies will perform at Geelong Arts Centre on 19 July as part of his national Son of a Carpenter tour.

ONE of Australia’s most recognisable stand-up exports is heading back to Geelong, with Jim Jefferies set to perform at Geelong Arts Centre on 19 July.

The show forms part of Jefferies’ Son of a Carpenter tour, marking his largest Australian run to date after extensive performances across North America and Europe.

“Coming back to Australia with this tour feels massive,” Jefferies said.

“I’ve been yelling at Americans and Europeans for the last two years now, so it’s only fair I come home and yell at you lot too.

“No matter how far I travel, I’m still just an Aussie bloke who somehow turned my stories into a career.

“I’m looking forward to bringing this show back where it all started.”

Jefferies has been performing for more than two decades and has built a global following with his blunt style and social commentary.

He originally trained in musical theatre. A talent agent first spotted him during a high school production.

He later received an operatic scholarship to the Sydney Opera House and another to the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, but throat nodules forced him to abandon musical theatre before his graduation.

He then moved into stand-up comedy.

In the early 2000s, he relocated to the United Kingdom, quickly establishing himself on the international circuit. A 2007 on-stage altercation with a heckler went viral and helped cement his notoriety.

Since releasing his first special Contraband in 2008, Jefferies has produced 10 stand-up specials, including 2025’s Two Limb Policy on Netflix. He also created and starred in the FX series Legit and Comedy Central’s The Jim Jefferies Show.

Promotors describe Jefferies’s latest tour as a showcase of his trademark sharp social commentary and brutally honest storytelling that promises a night of big laughs and unfiltered observations.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday 23 February at 11am. Head to jimjefferies.com
